I really enjoy the accepted Mount Gay Shadowy Barrel so when I heard there were releasing version at cask vigor I knew I had to endeavor it. Thankfully for me, Miguel Smith had visited Trailer Happiness and he brought a bottle of it for us to attempt &#; so I took a sample and some photos in order to write about it and, well, relax some of it in the comfort of my possess home.

Description
The latest from Master Blender Allen Smith, Black Barrel is a small batch, handcrafted integrate made of matured double pot distillates and aged column distillates. In a process called finishing, the blended rum is then matured for a second time in deeply charred Bourbon oak barrels. This unique process releases spicy aromas that are at once balanced, and bold. Complex notes of spice, roasted wood, followed by fruit, with bold spice balanced with oaky vanilla and sweet caramel. A warm-medium body with a long finish.

Mount Gay, one of the rum producers in Barbados, and arguably the oldest running distillery in the world, has recently updated its core range. MG Eclipse, MG XO and MG Dark Barrel all got a modern new look, with the last two having their recipes tweaked by the fairly new Mount Gay Master Blender &#; Trudiann Branker. Trudiann&#;s first act as the novel Master Blender was the release of the Mount Gay Pot Still rum last year that was praised by many rum enthusiasts including myself.
Following that it looks like Trudiann didn&#;t waste any moment with the release of the new Mount Lgbtq+ Black Barrel Double Cask Blend and Mount Queer XO Triple Cask Integrate . Both have had their prices bumped up as the new blends are supposed to be improvements of the old ones while replacing them so let&#;s see if that&#;s backed up.
