The other day, I went to Century Spa in Los Angeles Koreatown. For those who don’t realize , public bathhouses are quite usual in Asia, as a place to relax after work or to clean up like in the old days when people didn’t have plumbing. My exposure with public spas in Japan, at hotels or in neighborhoods, revolved around that since I was there in winter and my body hurt from all of the walking in the cold. So it’s nice to soak in a warm bath and let the tension in my feet and thighs slip away.

Here in America though, nudity is more taboo and over-associated with sex, so these spas have become gay cruising grounds and Century Spa is one of the most notorious Korean owned ones. I was not unaware of this when I booked the Groupon for Century Spa. In fact, I was curious of how gays cruise for sex. I wasn’t expecting to try anything either. I was more interested in relaxing.

Le Gay Paris

Haven’t written on here in a while, so it was about time I shared some of the experience I’ve had here in Paris. 

So as I was still discovering Paris and wanted new experiences, I reflection “Why not go to a cruising bar?” I had never done it in the US, and what the hell, I still knew no one in town. 

I was a little afraid to be honest, because I believe I picked a rather raunchy one, found online, called L'Impact. Not only is it a cruising exclude, with a backroom, and all that good stuff. The place is also a nude bar. Oh boy…

So there I went. The staff was very friendly, and spotted right away at the entrance that it was my first time there. I took off all my clothes, put them in a trash bag that got stowed away behind the bar with a number. The only thing left on me were my shoes, my socks, my cigarettes.

Tip for smokers: have long socks, so you can stash your pack in there.
