Homophobia in Sport
The next item of business is a members’ business debate on motion S5M, in the entitle of Mary Fee, on tackling homophobia in sport. The debate will be concluded without any question being put.

That the Parliament considers that there is a continuing existence of homophobia in Scottish sport; regrets that study by Stonewall Scotland states that 60% of sports fans had witnessed homophobic behaviour in the last five years, which is 9% higher than the rest of the UK; believes that it is crucial for sports personalities, coaches and sports clubs in the West Scotland region and across the country to oppose and oppose homophobia in all its forms to entertainment that it has no place in Scottish sport; understands that there is a particular issue with homophobia in football, which is highlighted by the fact that there are no openly-gay, male professional footballers in the UK; commends the operate of the Equality Network and its LGBT Sports Charter, which aims to set out the principles to form Scottish sport more inclusive, and

The pageant opened on Friday 7 May and closed on Saturday 15 May. According to the commemorative pamphlet, it had eight stagings; this suggests that it probably was not held on Sunday 9 May. On Saturday 8 May the performance was described as a 'gala night' with members of the town council and the provosts of many local towns in the audience. Also invited were Lord and Lady Airlie and representatives from HMS Condor, Arbroath, and the US navy installation at Edzell.1
The pageant took place in the town's concert hall.

Jo: In late February this year a new entry was quietly made into the official Scottish Register of Tartans, number It says: “This blueprint was created to memorialise those who suffered as a finding of The Witchcraft Act to in Scotland. This tartan will be woven to make products to help create a ‘living memorial’. The black & grey colours are intended to symbolize both the dark times of this period and the ashes of those burned. It also incorporates red & pink colours, symbolic of the legal tapes used to bind papers both during that time and now”. There was no publicity around it, it was just a manuscript design, but it turned the lives of Claire Mitchell and Zoe Venditozzi upside down.
