Bears Perth aims to provide a comfortable environment where people identifying as men can socialise and meet other men and make new friends. You don’t have to be big, hairy or bearded to be welcome but you must be identifying as male (including cisgender or transgender).

Bears Perth is not a sex club love bath houses/saunas etc.

We typically join for Den Nights on the 2nd Saturday and the 4th Friday of the month at Loton Park Tennis Club, corner of Bulwer and Lord Avenue, Highgate. Bears Perth typically hibernates during December to January.

Guests naming as male are welcome to Bears Perth events including Den Nights. Guest entry fees are listed on the event.

Iconic Perth gay nightclub Connections celebrates four decades

Owners trust it is the longest-running gay club in the southern hemisphere and this week the iconic and colourful Connections Nightclub in Perth is celebrating its 40th birthday.

The club opened in December and since then, has played a pivotal role in the evolution of Perth's male lover community.

Long-time patron Neil van Zee first went to Connections in

"My first experience coming to the club I was still married and living in the suburbs," Mr van Zee said.

"The boy on the door just looked at me and said, 'are you gay?' and I said, 'yes', he said, 'that'll be $'.

"Then it was up and into this fabulous place."

The year-old still goes to the nightclub twice a week, earning himself the nickname Nana.

"It's one of the things that keeps me young," he said.

"I used to always remain at the top of the stairs, and that's where most people keep in mind me from.

"People come up to me on the streets and say, 'Nana you were the fir
