We provide space and opportunity to nurture, celebrate, and authorize our diverse LGBT collective through programs, events, and collaborations

Description

We are the hub of the LGBT community in and around Charlotte. We provide information, activities, classes, and social events. We are a meeting place for the LGBT communiyt to grow together. We provide a safe, welcoming, and fun location for group programs and events. We promote a more productive use of no-profit funds through project collaboration, distributed meeting space, and pooled office costs. We foster cooperation and synergy among LGBT organizations and individuals. We off acces to information and resources for newcomers and residents alike.

The Charlotte Pride Festival wrapped up on Sunday with a parade, floats, dancing and thousands of cheering people filling uptown in every variation of rainbow garb. But this year’s Lgbtq+ fest took place against the backdrop of statewide and national fights over LGBT rights that hold center stage in our carried on culture wars.

The North Carolina General Assembly last week overrode Gov. Roy Cooper’s veto of a trio of bills. One bans puberty blockers, gender surgery and other transition-related health care for minors. One forbids transgender women and girls from playing on female sports teams from middle school through college. And one requires schools to notify parents if their child wants to start using a unlike name or pronoun.
