We include been to Gran Canaria over 8 times now and for good reason. It is one of the most welcoming and gay friendly destinations we possess ever travelled to and has some incredible gay nightlife.
The majority of the gay bars in Gran Canaria can be establish in the Yumbo Centre in Maspalomas. The Yumbo centre is a large multi level outdoor shopping centre by day and home to the biggest queer scene in Gran Canaria by night.
On our last visit we counted that there were over 30 gay bars and clubs in the Yumbo Centre alone ranging from drag bars, to casual bars, clubs and cruising bars.
We are always completely spoilt for choice when it comes to choosing a gay exclude in Gran Canaria which is why we have put together a shortlist of our personal favorites. [no_toc]

Most of the gay nightlife is centred in the south of the island in Playa del Inglés, concentrated in two shopping centres - the Yumbo and the Cita - though the Avenida de Tirajana has seen fresh venues open in the past couple of years. The gay scene in Gran Canaria has something to offer for all age groups and interests, including bears, leather, mature men, drag and daddies. Most of the people you will meet in the bars and clubs there will be tourists - though at the weekends, more spanish locals visit Playa del Inglés for a night out.

The Gran Canaria gay scene has become increasingly bear-friendly over recent years, and there's now a extensive range of venues where bears and the same-sex attracted men who like them will feel more than comfortable. There are committed bear bars like the Men's Bar and Barenhohle, but you won't identify yourself alone in Construction or Cruise, both of which have a leathery beary edge to them. or in Hummel Hummel, which is very accepted with older men (and others). There are monthly bear sauna events too
